KASBP (Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals) is a non-profit organization established in May 2001 in New Jersey. Since its founding, KASBP has grown into a nationwide professional society of approximately 2,500 members, consisting primarily of Korean-American professionals engaged in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.

The membership encompasses a broad spectrum of expertise, including employees from leading global pharmaceutical companies such as AbbVie, BMS, GSK, J&J, Merck, Novartis, Pfizer, and Sanofi; distinguished academics serving as professors, researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students; government scientists and officials from the FDA, NIH, and other federal or local agencies; as well as professionals affiliated with Korean corporations and sponsoring companies in Korea.

KASBP’s core activities are centered in major hubs of the U.S. pharmaceutical industry, including New Jersey, New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Washington D.C., with additional regional chapters established in Philadelphia, Connecticut, Illinois, San Diego, and Seattle.

In 2022, the KASBP NJ/NY Chapter was launched to encompass the organization’s birthplace, New Jersey, as well as the New York region. This chapter has since grown to include approximately 700 registered members.
